Acting for our client, the Stapleford Group, we designed a new retail and leisure destination, located just off the A11 in Thetford. This new 75,000 sq.ft retail park, which lies in a retail and industrial area on London Road, has been carefully considered to acknowledge the surrounding context and appeal to modern retailer demands.

Located across the rear of the site, the retail terrace masks the adjacent industrial buildings and enhances the character and appearance of London Road. The units are designed to provide an interesting frontage with freestanding entrance and signage towers punctuating the length of the elevation.

Our landscape team got involved in this project from the planning stage, taking on the development of the design of the public realm surrounding the new buildings and car park. Sensitive to restrictions related to the existing trees, the landscape design provides softening to the engineering solutions necessary to alleviate level differences around the perimeter of the site.
