Nando’s

A striking ‘eco-restaurant’ powered by renewable energy with rainwater harvesting and a living wall

In 2016, our team achieved a significant milestone by securing comprehensive planning consent for the construction of an innovative Nando’s ‘eco-restaurant’ at Cambridge Retail Park. This project was handpicked by Nando’s to serve as a flagship development, showcasing their commitment to environmental stewardship. Our architectural design was meticulously crafted to embody Nando’s new sustainability ethos, ensuring that the restaurant not only harmonised with its surroundings but also set a benchmark for future developments.

The project presented us with a thrilling challenge: To conceive a restaurant that not only functioned as a dining space but also as a testament to sustainable building practices. We selected materials known for their low environmental impact and incorporated cutting-edge green technologies to minimise energy consumption. Our collaboration with the construction team was rooted in a shared vision of sustainability, guiding every decision to prioritise eco-efficiency. From the sourcing of materials to the final construction phase, we maintained a steadfast focus on reducing the carbon footprint, reflecting our dedication to creating a building that was as kind to the planet as it was inviting to its patrons.
