Urban Edge was commissioned by Freshwater Group to develop a scheme for 80,000 sq.ft of new retail accommodation on the site of the derelict Zephyr Cams factory in Lowestoft. The two-hectare brownfield site was largely derelict for 15 years and was an eyesore on the built landscape.

We proposed the demolition of the existing building and the erection of four retail units, one café unit and one restaurant/retail unit based on confirmed interest from The Range, Aldi, and Costa. Our proposals also include parking provision for 300 cars and areas for cycle users. The scheme took two and a half years from planning approval to practical completion.
